Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Leh Airport

  • Welcome to Ladakh extending from the Glacier to the main Great Himalayas, Ladakh is a
    land like no other.
  • Your trip starts with your arrival at Leh Airport.
  • Leh is capital and largest town of Ladakh, Golden Eagle Expedition Team will meet you at the airport and drive you to the hotel to check in.
  • Today is set aside to allow you to settle in and rest up before we start explore stunning landscapes and roads.
  • By afternoon our supported team leader will meet you at the hotel and brief you about Trip.
  • Overnight stay at hotel in Leh

Day 2 Leh Local Sightseeing towards Sangam Point

  • Today’s sightseeing will be around 90kms.
  • After a relaxing breakfast, we will visit Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Hall of fame (A museum in memory of the brave Indian soldiers).
  • Sangam Point which is the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river.
  • Evening visit to Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace.
  • Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 3Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung-La Pass

  • Travel distance and time (130km / 5-6 hours)
  • We ride through the epic Khardung La Pass (17,982 feet) the highest motorable road.
  • The valley is known for the sand dunes with white rolling sands, and the sight of the double humped Bactrian Camels.
  • Diskit Monastery, the monastery has 33m statue of Maitreya Buddha facing down the shayok river.
  • You can go for an adventure activities at Nubra valley as it is the hub for adventure activities, you can do ATV bike ride, Zip line, Rafting, Go karting and Double humped camel ride.
  • Overnight stay at Swiss camp in Hunder.

Day 4Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake and Back to Leh via Changla

We will start early from Nubra valley because this drive will be the longest drive of all, we will be reaching Pangong by afternoon. Will spend one hour gazing the beauty of the Pangong lake and head back to Leh. On our way back we cross Chang La pass at an elevation of 5360m, we will take a break for a moment to enjoy breath taking view and the gorgeous views of rolling valleys. Less than 20km from Leh town, we will stop to visit Thiksey Monastery built in 1430 AD and the Rancho’s school . We will Reach Leh by evening. Overnight stay at Leh.

Day 5Departure to Home

After  breakfast we will excursion towards the Leh Airport , its time to departure. We hope you depart with happy and vivid memories of this enchanting, mysterious landscape and we look forward to welcoming you again in Ladakh.

What is the best time to visit Leh Ladakh ?

The best months to visit Leh Ladakh are the months from June to August. If one is interested in travelling to Ladakh even in cold weather, we provide Leh Ladakh SUV trips in the month of March-April-May as well – you can experience the different Leh  Ladakh and get to enjoy the snow as well. Since the months of June and July will be peak tourist season there’ll be a huge inflow of people, to avoid big crowds and to enjoy a calmer Ladakh you can visit in the month of March-April-May also.

How do you prevent altitude sickness when travelling?

Anyone travelling 12,000 ft above sea level will be having difficulty breathing especially on the passes – khardungla pass 17,582 ft. We recommend our travellers to take a complete rest the first day so that you can get acclimated to the weather. We also recommend keeping yourself hydrated. In case of an emergency, an oxygen cylinder will be provided by us and will be carried in the car for whole journey.

What is the connectivity in Ladakh?

Jio connections is available in most part of Ladakh, if you have postpaid sim you can enjoy jio connections. Besides jio, bsnl and airtel also works in Leh.

Are kids allowed on the trip?

Yes, kids above 5 years of age can travel long routes such as Leh Ladakh. It is recommended to carry warmer clothes so that it will be a comfortable journey the whole SUV trip.

What are the types of vehicles for SUV trips?

We provide comfortable rides for our travellers since the journey is usually long. The cars available in Ladakh SUV trip are – Innova, xylo, Scorpio. If you’re travelling in a group of more than 10 people , we have a Tempo traveller (12 Seater).  You can book whichever suits your taste and you are most comfortable in.

What is the average travel duration each day?

Since the region and valleys of Ladakh are scattered vastly, there are overnight stays in each place and that’s why the travel duration will be around 5-6 hours minimum and at most 10-12 hrs when you will travel from Nubra valley to Leh via Pangong Lake. 

Will there be a Professional driver?

Yes, you will be driven around by a local driver with years of experience and is very familiar with the roads of Leh Ladakh, Manali and Srinagar.
