Zanskar Tsomoriri Umling La Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Leh

  • Welcome to Ladakh – extending welcome from Glaciers to the Great Himalayas, Ladakh is a land like no other. Your adventure starts with arrival at Leh Airport from where our representative will receive you and take you to the hotel.
  • We highly recommend you to take a half-day rest to acclimatize yourself with the atmosphere, allow you to settle in and rest up before we start tomorrow to explore stunning landscapes and roads.
  • By evening our supported team leader will meet you at the hotel and brief you about Trip.
  • Overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.
  • Meal : Dinner.

Day 2Leh to Whakha via Lamayuru

  • Since we have a lot of sightseeing on the way, we will start our journey early in the morning towards Wakha.
  • Travel distance and time (180km/6-7hrs).
  • Terrain type ( Basic mostly highway).
  • Enroute we’ll cross many famous places like Gurudwara Pathar Sahab, Magnetic Hill, Sham valley etc.
  • Lamayuru is popularly known for its monastery and for Moonland, a picturesque landscape that resembles the surface of the moon.
  • Crossing Namkila Pass and Fotula Pass, you get to visit the Maitreya Buddha at Mulbek (a stone-carved statue).
  • Overnight stay at Wakha in a Swiss camp.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 3Whakha to Padum via Kargil and Suru valley

  • We will start early for Padum today, as this stretch is the longest in our itinerary.
  • Travel distance and time (270km/7-8hrs).
  • Terrain type ( Basic mostly highway).
  • Enroute we’ll cross many famous places like Kargil, Suru Valley, Rangdum, Darang Durum Glacier,
  • Pensi La (4,400m) and lots of small villages on the way etc.
  • Overnight stay at Padum.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 4Padum to Sarchu via Shingku La

  • Travel distance and time (230km/7-8hrs).
  • Terrain type (advance)
  • Today’s ride going to be very adventurous and the nature itself will take your riding skill test because of the extreme terrain where we need to do a lot of off roading,
  • On the way we will crossing small villages and a famous place like Gombo-Rangjon which is known for its epic view.
  • We need to cross two passes on this day both are popular passes, first one is Shinku la at an elevation of 16,580 ft. and the other one is Baralacha pass at an elevation of 15,910 ft.
  • Overnight stay at Sarchu.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 5Serchu To Tso Moriri via Puga valley

  • Travel distance and travel time (220 kms/ 07 – 08 hrs) approx.
  • Terrain type ( advance).
  • The landscape becomes more arid and mountainous. You’ll cross the high passes of Lachung La and Nakila pass.
  • You’ll reach the junction at Debring, where the road splits, the right (a less prominent track) is your turn-off towards Tsokar, Puga and Tso Moriri.
  • Puga Valley, It’s a fascinating, otherworldly landscape.
  • Tso Moriri is a breathtaking alpine lake situated in the Changthang Plateau of Ladakh, India. Spend sometime click some pictures.
  • Overnight stay at Tso Moriri.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 6Tso Moriri to Hanle via Salsa La

  • Travel distance and time (150km /5-6 hours)
  • Terrain type (Intermediate).
  • Hanle has a lovely Monastery offering some great aerial views of the whole village that is a home of about 1000 people with altitude of 4500 Mtrs.
  • The Hanle Observatory, currently the second highest optical observatory in the world.
  • It’s known for its stunning shades of blue, its remote and serene location, and its rich wildlife.
  • Overnight stay at Hanle.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 7Hanle to Pangong Lake via Umling La/MigLa

  • Travel distance from Hanle to Pangong via Umling, Koyul (285km /8-9 hours) Road condition is good (Intermediate). (Umling La 19,024 ft.)
  • Travel distance from Hanle to Pangong via Migla (250km /8-9 hours) Road condition (Extremely bad roads in 2025 End). (MigLa 19,400 ft.)
  • In November 2025, the Golden Eagle Expedition team visited MIGLA PASS, which is at 19,400 ft. The condition of the road was terrible, but the roads are under construction . Some sections are incredibly steep, with an incline of up to 70°, making the descent just as difficult as the ascent. (Visuals and footage are available on our social media sites.)
  • We will decide once all the riders have reached Leh Migla Pass or Umling La Pass.
  • Overnight stay at Hanle.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 8Pangong to Nubra valley via shayok route

  • We will ride towards Nubra valley via Shayok Route.
  • Travel time and distance (6-7 hours /180km approx).
  • Terrain Type (advance level as most of the terrain will be off-roading and water crossings will be there)
  • The valley is known for the sand dunes with white rolling sands, and the sight of the double humped Bactrian Camels.
  • Diskit Monastery, the monastery has 33m statue of Maitreya Buddha facing down the shayok river.
  • You can go for an adventure activities at Nubra valley as it is the hub for adventure activities, you can do ATV bike ride, Zip line, Rafting, Go karting and Double humped camel ride.
  • Overnight stay at Hundar.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 9Nubra valley to Leh via Khardung La

  • Travel distance and time (130km / 5-6 hours)
  • Terrain type (intermediate)
  • We ride through the epic Khardung La Pass (17,982 feet) the highest motorable road.
  • Evening visit to Shanti Stupa.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.

Day 10Departure to Home

In the morning we will transfer you to the Leh airport to board the flight back to your destination. Trip ends with the Sweet Memories of Ladakh and Zanskar

  • Booking amount 3,000/- (Non Refundable and Non Adjustable)
  • 40 Days before the trip departure 60% of the total cost.
  • 15 Days before the trip departure 100% of the total cost.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations are made before 35 to 15 days from the date of travel then 50% of the total trip will be charged.  
  • Cancellations are made between 0 to 10  days from the date of travel then 100% of the total trip will be charged. 

Refund Policy

  • Refund amount will be processed within 2 weeks of business days.
  • All applicable refunds will be done in the traveller’s Bank Transfer only.
