Leh UMLING LA / MIGLA Pass Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Leh Airport

  • Welcome to Ladakh, a spectacular land extending from the glaciers to the Great Himalayas. Your adventure starts upon arrival at Leh Airport, the capital and largest town of Ladakh. There, you will be met by the Golden Eagle Expedition Team, who will drive you to your hotel for check-in.
  • Please use today to settle in and rest. Our exploration of the region’s stunning landscapes and roads begins tomorrow.
  • In the evening, our representative will meet you at the hotel and brief you on the trip.
  • Your bikes and riding gear will be available at the hotel
  • An overnight stay at a hotel in Leh

 

Day 2 Leh Local Sightseeing towards Sangam Point

  • Today’s ride will be around 90kms.
  • Terrain type (basic)
  • After a relaxing breakfast, we will visit Magnetic Hill, Pathar Sahib Gurudwara, Hall of fame (A museum in memory of the brave Indian soldiers).
  • Sangam Point which is the confluence of Indus and Zanskar river.
  • Evening visit to Shanti Stupa.
  • An overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.

Day 3Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung-La Pass

  • Travel distance and time (130km / 5-6 hours)
  • Terrain type (intermediate)
  • We ride over the epic Khardung La Pass (17,982 feet), the highest motorable road.
  • The valley is known for the sand dunes with white rolling sands, and the sight of the double humped Bactrian Camels.
  • Diskit Monastery, the monastery has 33m statue of Maitreya Buddha facing down the shayok river.
  • You can go for an adventure activities at Nubra valley as it is the hub for adventure activities, you can do ATV bike ride, Zip line, Rafting, Go karting and Double humped camel ride.
  • An overnight stay at swiss camp in Hunder.

Day 4Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via Shayok Route

  • We will ride towards Pangong Lake via Shayok Route (east of Ladakh ), on the border with China.
  • Travel time and distance (7-8 hours /180km approx).
  • Terrain Type (advance level as most of the terrain will be off-roading and water crossings will be there.)
  • You will reach the Lake by evening and you will be surprise to see such a beautiful lake in the middle of mountains.
  • Pangong Tso (high grassland lake) is a high altitude salt water lake, the lake is so huge that 70% of it is in China and 30% is in India.
  • Pangong Lake altitude 4,225m.
  • An overnight stay at cottage in Pangong.

Day 5Pangong to Hanle via Rezang La war memorial 

  • Travel distance and time (200km /6-7 hours)
  • Terrain type (Intermediate).
  • The real beauty of Pangong lake you will observe on this day. 
  • In chushul we will visit Rezang La war memorial.
  • Hanle has a lovely Monastery offering some great aerial views of the whole village that is a home of about 1000 people with altitude of 4500 Mtrs. 
  • The Hanle Observatory is operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru and currently the second highest optical observatory in the world, with an installed telescope of about 2.01 meters (6.5 feet) diameter.
  • An overnight stay at Hanle.

Day 6Hanle to Umling La / MigLa

  • Travel distance towards Umling and back to Hanle (145km /5-6 hours) Terrain type (Intermediate).
  • Travel distance towards Migla and back to Hanle (80km /3-5 hours) Terrain type (Extremely bad roads).
  • At an elevation of 19,400 feet, Mig La Pass.
  • At an elevation of 19,024 feet, Umling La Pass.
  • Overnight stay at Hanle.
  • Meal : Breakfast and Dinner.
  • An overnight stay at Hanle.

 

  • NOTES : Is MIGLA Pass (19,400 ft) possible?
  • Hello riders. In November 2025, the Golden Eagle Expedition team visited MIGLA Pass, which is at 19,400 ft. The condition of the road was terrible, but the roads are under construction . Some sections are incredibly steep, with an incline of up to 70°, making the descent just as difficult as the ascent. (Visuals and footage are available on our social media sites.)
  • Before heading to MIGLA, we will check the condition of the roads and the necessary permits.
  • We will first proceed with UMLING LA and then address MIGLA.
  • Based on the road conditions we observed, attempting a MIGLA trip with a pillion rider on a Royal Enfield Himalayan, whether the 411cc or 450cc model, would be challenging.

Day 7Hanle to Leh via Chumathang

  • Travel distance and travel time (250 kms / 7-8 hrs) approx.
  • Terrain Type ( Intermediate)
  • On the way you can explore Chumathang (Hot Spring ).
  • Lunch break at upshi village.
  • Thiksay Monastery and Rancho School
  • An overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.

Day 8Departure to Home

Early morning transfer to Leh airport to board flight back to destination. Journey ends with Sweet Memories of Ladakh.

Fixed Airport Drop Timing

This means the transportation service to Airport does not leave continuously. Instead, it has a set schedule with specific departure times. In your example, the only times you can be taken to the airport are:

6:00 AM

8:00 AM

10:00 AM (The last option of the morning)

Confirmation Policy 

  • Payments can be done in 3 parts.
  • After processing the booking amount you will get an email confirmation.
  • Once you paid the 100% amount for your booking, you will get an invoice containing all the information about the trip.

Payment Terms Policy

  • Booking amount 3,000/- (Non Refundable and Non Adjustable)
  • 40 Days before the trip departure 60% of the total cost.
  • 15 Days before the trip departure 100% of the total cost.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations are made before 35 to 15 days from the date of travel then 50% of the total trip will be charged.  
  • Cancellations are made between 0 to 10  days from the date of travel then 100% of the total trip will be charged. 

Refund Policy

  • Refund amount will be processed within 2 weeks of business days.
  • All applicable refunds will be done in the traveller’s Bank Transfer only.
