Stok Kangri Trek and Expedition 2022 Starting from Stok village, just south of Leh, we ascend to Mankarmo to make camp and adjust to the high mountains. In the northern part of India is getting popular day by day for the past few years. It’s a beautiful trekking and climbing expedition that takes place in the famous Ladakh region of India. One of the most beautiful trekking experiences in Ladakh. Attracted numerous adventure trekkers and nature and peace lovers from around the world. Our ascent of Stok Kangri (6,123m) starts at midnight when the snow and ice is fully frozen and safe to climb. By sunrise we reach the shoulder of the mountain where you can enjoy an energy boost from a packed breakfast and spectacular views before we attempt the summit. We typically move on and reach the summit by 9a.m. (but this depends on your fitness, speed and aptitude).
We descend by the same route & returning to basecamp by around noon. Where you can rest and share stories of your high summit adventure with friends and lots of hot tea.
Arrival in Leh airport where you would be greeted by our representative and transfer to your hotel. Today, we would spend the day in the room itself to acclimatise to the high altitude. This is absolutely necessary and is most important for the days ahead. Overnight in the hotel.
As we are spending the day here, we go for an exploration of Leh city where we will visit beautiful monasteries and ancient places. While going around Leh, we will be getting familiar with the high altitude climate here and our body will learn to adjust in it so that we are ready to move ahead on our trekking and expedition journey. After an awesome day of exploring the cultural, natural and spiritual grandeur of Leh, we return back to the hotel and relax. Overnight in Hotel.
Early morning after the breakfast we will drive till Stok Village trek point. After Reach at Point we will hike towards the Mankarmo Basecamp which is 3 Hours hiking from Point crossing Changma Camp. We reach at Mankarmo basecamp. The whole trek passes through the barren grey landscape of Ladakh. From chang ma trek up to Mankorma, it is a fairly easy trek along with the river and you would love the overnight stay in tents.
We take the daily trek to the Base camp today where we will set our camp. The trek itself is a short trip but the beauty that the stretch brings to us is impeccable. Once we set our camp, we can take a walk to a little higher part of the camp for some extraordinary views of incredible mountain peaks including Gulab Kangri, Parcha Kangri, and several other beautiful mountains. The base camp area consists of grassy land with some small lakes around. We will have some time to explore the grandeur of the place and acclimatize. Overnight in Camp.
We spend the day today preparing for the climb of the next day, the highlight of the trip. A detailed discussion on the coming adventure, route information, safety measures etc. will take place today. Most of the time of the day today will be physically relaxing as we are saving energy and getting prepared for the climbing part but mentally we will be absorbing so much about the upcoming adventure. We will be getting somewhat familiar with the thin air of the high altitude and know some techniques to adjust in it. We spend overnight under our tents at the base camp. Overnight in Camp.
In Midnight around 12:00 am we will summit towards the SK. A long and challenging day today, we will climb past glacial region, steep slopes, ridge before we attain the summit. Thus we need to be highly well prepared to take the challenge of the long day effort. It’s will take Min 8 hrs to Max 14hrs from Basecamp.
A spectacular view of Karakoram Range, Zansker range and dominating Saser Kangri will force us to forget all the difficult times we passed through to reach the top. After enjoying and absorbing some quality time on the top, we start descending towards the base camp. On reaching the base camp. Overnight in Basecamp.
